About the editor
Hazel Harris
Hazel has a first class degree in English Literature from Durham University. After graduating, she spent two years as a children's bookseller and subsequently nearly three years working in-house for a major global STM publisher, latterly as a project manager of major reference works. She has been a full-time editor, project manager and proofreader for two years. She has experience of working on various subjects in documents ranging in size from a few pages to five-volume encyclopaedias. Clients have included Elsevier, Practical Family History magazine, Viva!life magazine, Wiley-Blackwell and various academics and private individuals.
Hazel has qualified as a proofreader with the Publishing Training Centre (PTC) and has developed her copy-editing and project management skills through on-the-job training and various short courses run by the Society for Editors and Proofreaders (SfEP). She is committed to keeping her knowledge, skills and equipment up to date.
She has achieved ordinary membership of the Society for Editors and Proofreaders and abides by their Code of Practice.
